Queen Elizabeth II - 1926-2022
Published: 08 September 2022
We are all deeply saddened by the passing of HM The Queen after her years of service to our country. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family at this time.
As a mark of respect, flags will be flown at half mast until the day of the funeral, except during the Proclamation on Saturday from 11am until the following day where it will then return to half mast. Thank you to Thurcroft Veterans Association for their service.
A Book of Condolence will be opened and held in St Simon & St Jude - Thurcroft Parish Church during the period of mourning. This will be available to leave your message of condolence between 2pm-4pm weekdays from Monday and also 9-12:30pm on Thursday. **Julie has kindly offered to open the church outside these times if people would like to get in touch with her - 07958317202**
If you would like to lay flowers, we ask that these are laid inside the Thurcroft Memorial garden, it is the Queen's wish that these are not wrapped in plastic cellophane so that they may be collected the day following the funeral to be used as compost. The gates will be open from 9am tomorrow until dark everyday until the funeral.
We at Thurcroft Parish Council stand with all in our community as we remember and pay tribute to HM The Queen at this difficult time
